People listen to me. I know you may only be just into cosplay, only do it a little or whatever but please for the love of god if your going to cosplay please work hard on it. i am tired of the girls cosplaying guys but i can still clearly tell ur a girl (meaning your dont even try to hide you boobs) or you dont even know how to properly wear your cosplay or wig. Here are a few points i think ever cosplayer should follow.
- Care of cosplay - I don’t care if you made your cosplay or not but please learn to clean your cosplays. Its not cool haveing a stain or spot on your cosplay. If you can’t wash it at least go over it with a damp rag to clean off any spots and use febreeze. smelly cosplays are not appealing.
- Care of wigs - Please learn to care for your wigs. Try not to overuse hair gel, really gelled wigs make me said because most of the times they dont look good. If your wig is spiked and you are taking it to a con, put it on a foam head to keep it nice. Also do not use a flat-iron on it unless you know it is heat resistant. When you r not wearing your wig keep it in a ziplock bag so it wont tangle. also most wigs can be washed so if you need to restyle it wash it first. ALSO when u wear your wig make sure its on properly, not to far up ur head or to low
- Behavior - When you cosplay usually one trys to act like the character, but there are limits. DO not act insane or inappropriate because of your character. Think before you act and how it will effect people around you. Please dont give other cosplayers a bad name because of the way you act.
- Shoes - I feel i need to address this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you are cosplaying and your character does not wear snickers do not wear them when you cosplay. I know people don’t have alot of money to spend on cosplay, i know i don’t, please try your best to get something that looks ok. If you are low on cash and need to get shoes or whatever for your cosplay the Goodwill or a store like that is a wonderful place to look.
- MAKEUP - the most important part of cosplay. I do not care if you are asian, hispanic, african american, Caucasian or whatever you can cosplay whoever you want but please wear makeup. Makeup evens out the skin tone and makes your face look so much better in pictures. learning can be tricky, youtube videos, online makeup tutorials and just asking someoone you know helps out alot. and yes Guys you can and should wear makeup too.
